info
I provide Psychoeducational Testing for children and teens. This is a series of Psychological tests which are used to analyze and understand a child's cognitive process and academic functioning in order for him/her to perform in school to their utmost potential. At the end of the testing process, parents are provided with a comprehensive profile of their child's cognitive and academic strengths and obstacles as well as an individualized plan for assisting their child moving forward.
Common Reasons for
Psychoeducational Testing:
ADD/ADHD Assessment
I provide formal assessment for Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD). Often parents are told by teachers, pediatricians, or even family members that their child may have ADD/ADHD. Although ADD/ADHD does affect some children, it is often a diagnosis that is given to children without proper investigation and therefore, it can be over diagnosed. Many times a child can appear to have ADD/ADHD when, in fact, there is another reason for inattentive or hyperactive behaviors.
In my assessment for ADD/ADHD I spend time with your child to conduct a clinical evaluation and psychological testing. I also spend time with parents to conduct a thorough interview and a review of checklist of your child's behaviors. With your permission, I also review a checklist of behaviors with your child's teacher. At the end of the assessment parents are provided with a detailed report of their child's functioning and an individualized plan for how they can best assist their child moving forward.
